weekly blog post

This week I began the process of putting my paper together. I ran into difficulties initially when i first started writing the paper, but i was assisted tremendously by my outline. Having a outline out in front of me really helped me stay focused on what i was trying to write about and kept me from drifting of topic. i feel like i still need to do more research to strengthen my argument. The peer review in class was helpful as well. The people that reviewed my paper gave me good opinions on what they think i should expand. So with their advise I'm going to review my sources and see if i can come up with some more convincing details the support my solutions.

weekly post

So this week was a pretty productive week for research wise. i was able to find strong statistics that would help me form a good argument and better prove that my solutions will be productive. Zant helped me find a lot of information about the plans that have already been implimented to help prevent homelessness in charlotte. Between this research and my outline i believe i will be able to come with a pretty convincing persuasive paper.

weekly blog post

This week we turned in our final drafts of our two forms of rhetoric. I was pretty happy about the way my poster came out. I found out that if you use some some decent borders around everything than it really improves the overall appearance of the poster. When it comes to my paper I think this is going to be a real tough because i feel like there different causes of homelessness. I hoping through my research this week i will be able to narrow down to main causes of this issue. Through fixing these i will be able to come up with more effective solutions. I must have all this prepared before i do my outline so that way i can ensure that my outline is through and actually helpful.

weekly blog post

Last week we focused mostly on the two pieces of rhetoric we we're supposed to make for our NPO. It was kind of tough for me to decide what types of rhetoric, but i finally made the decision to go with a Facebook fan page and a poster to hanging it in the engineering building. I think putting the poster in the Smith engineering building will be the best place for the poster because of all the construction related majors. With the Facebook page its going to be kind of tough because there is already a page made for it, so I'm going to have to try to make my page have a different feel to it. I think I have got my two pieces of rhetoric planed out pretty well, and they should turn out pretty good.

collage

How does this collage represent my identity?
I feel you can identify people by the things you do. I put a picture of my twin brother in my collage because he is one of my best friends. He is somebody I can always count on to have my back. Me and my  brother go to different colleges and when i got here it felt kind of weird not having him around for the first time in my life. This is what influenced me to join a fraternity which is another thing i identify myself with. I joined a fraternity because the relationship i have with my pledge bros is kind like the same relationship with my twin. Another thing i feel people identify me with is my truck. People notice that i take good care of my truck. i think i got this character trait from my dad. Growing i have always noticed how my dad takes care of all of his things. He values the things he has because he had worked hard for them. My dad has been taking my brother and i hunting and fishing ever since we were little kids. Hunting and fishing is thing that i love to do with my brother and dad. I feel it has brought us closer through all the great hunting and fishing experiences.
What are the links between images and identity and our society? What types of images do you identify with?
In our society there are a lot of unique characters and the way we identify them is by the things they do and the images we see of them. When you see images of people you can start to determine their identity by there actions and the way they present themselves. Everyone's identity is so different because everyone has different experiences that impact them in many different ways. I think if you take a look at my profile pictures on Facebook you will find that i identify myself with the hunting and fishing that i do. People always give me hard time about my profile pictures because they all have fish and deer in them, but these images remind me of the good times that my dad, brother and i have had out in the outdoors, so thats why i like them

School work is really starting to pile up this week.  I've been in the library more than i have been at home.  The engineering lab has been more docile this week making it seem as if i am the only one that has work to do.  I'm excited to go to my lake house this weekend with some close friends, i am actually leaving shortly.  This will be a nice break from the hectic schedule that has been ruining any chance of fun that i could of had this week.
